Wrap Up + Good Luck During Conference!

 Hello, delegates!

I can’t believe conference is only one day away! We are so excited to host yet another BMUN session for you all. As a reminder, please keep this blog pinned on your computer throughout the weekend, as we will use this as a tool to communicate with the entire committee.

Major Themes

By the end of this conference, our goal is for delegates to leave with an understanding of entrepreneurship and how exactly to start a company. Oftentimes, founders must problem solve in a way not unlike United Nations representatives. We want you to learn how to present your ideas in a concise, logical way that you can present to anyone (i.e. the dais or the “investors”).

On the note of sustainability, we want you to understand the challenges to implementing sustainability on a global scale. Additionally, we hope that you are able to take away from this committee how every aspect of life is affected by our sustainable decisions, and how entrepreneurship today is trying to have a positive impact!

Conference Schedule

Opening Ceremonies will be taking place at 5 pm in Pauley Ballroom. Committee session 1 will be on Friday from 7-10 pm. You will be meeting our BVC dais member Harry at Lower Sproul, where he will guide you to our committee room. Don’t worry if you’re unsure where these locations are! There will be several BMUN Secretariat members around to guide you and answer any questions.

In the Friday night session, please come prepared with one business model that you plan to bring to the floor. We welcome having multiple plans in case you realize your original idea isn’t what you want to pursue! The dais will highly smile upon everyone giving a shorter speech at the very beginning of committee (if you wish to). After this, delegates will move into an unmoderated caucus to discuss, combine, or eliminate certain business models. The rest of committee will proceed in a rotation of moderated and unmoderated caucuses to maximize your time building your pitch decks.

I know you have all worked super hard on your ideas, and we are super excited to guide you throughout this weekend. Trust the process, we’ll see you all super soon!

Best regards,

Celine Wherritt
